Saad Murad, RN, BSN, a certified registered nurse recognized by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), is making notable strides in the field of mental health care at Bronson Behavioral Health Hospital – Battle Creek, Michigan’s primary psychiatric facility dedicated to adult treatment. 

Saad holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Duhok and is currently pursuing a Master of Science Degree with a specialization in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. His academic pursuits complement his practical experience, equipping him with the skills necessary to address the complex needs of patients struggling with mental health issues.

In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Saad possesses a diverse skill set that includes proficiency in Microsoft Office, editing, public speaking, and speechwriting. These skills not only enhance his effectiveness in patient care but also empower him to communicate vital mental health information within the community.

Saad’s dedication to advocacy extends beyond the walls of the hospital. He serves on the Board of Directors at Yazda, a U.S.-based global Yazidi nonprofit organization that focuses on advocacy, aid, and relief efforts for the Yazidi community. His involvement with Yazda highlights his commitment to raising awareness about the mental health challenges faced by survivors of genocide and other forms of trauma.

Saad’s passion for mental health advocacy is deeply rooted in his own experiences as a genocide survivor. Having witnessed the devastating effects of trauma firsthand, he understands the importance of providing compassionate care and support to those in need. His work in trauma care in Iraq ignited his dedication to mental health, allowing him to make a significant impact in the lives of individuals affected by adversity.

As Saad continues his journey in the mental health field, he remains steadfast in his mission to promote mental health awareness and support within his community.
