Later, he returned to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he completed his fellowships in surgical critical care in 2007, and trauma/burn surgery in 2008.
Distinguished as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the doctor is board-certified in surgical critical care and general surgery by the American Board of Surgery (ABS). The ABS is an independent, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge.
Intensive care medicine, also called critical care medicine, is a medical specialty that deals with seriously or critically ill patients who have, are at risk of, or are recovering from conditions that may be life-threatening.
