Reputable orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. LaRocca achieves excellent surgical outcomes through expertise in minimally invasive and open techniques of spinal reconstructions, stabilization, and nerve decompression of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine. In private practice since 2001, he is the Director & Founder of New Jersey Neck & Back Institute, P.C. with offices throughout the state of New Jersey, including Lawrenceville (main location), Toms River, Mount Laurel, and North Brunswick.

After a career as a mechanical engineer, Dr. LaRocca pursued medicine and received his medical degree from the Sidney Kimmel Medical College in 1995. He then went on to complete his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the Albert Einstein Medical Center, which included specialized training in pediatric scoliosis at the Shriners Hospitals for Children in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Thereafter, he continued further specialized training and completed a fellowship in complex spinal reconstruction and clinical management of disorders of the neck and back at the New England Baptist Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. His training is international, having had the privilege of visiting with the distinguished and world-renowned spinal surgeon, Professor Jürgen Harms at the Klinikum Karlsbad-Langensteinbach in Karlsbad, Germany.
Licensed to practice medicine in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, the doctor is board-certified in orthopaedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopaedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopaedic surgeons.
To advance his professional efforts, he remains a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the North American Spine Society, the Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery, the New Jersey Spine Society, the American Medical Association, and the New Jersey Doctor Patient Alliance. He has also authored and presented research at several national meetings, including the North American Spine Society.
Orthopaedic surgery is the branch of surgery concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system. Orthopaedic surgeons use both surgical and non-surgical means to treat musculoskeletal trauma, spine diseases, sports injuries, degenerative diseases, infections, tumors, and congenital disorders.
