She also enjoys being able to work hand in hand with her colleagues and the hospital staff as a team, and admires the respect, love, and compassion they have for one another.
A native of Iraq, she graduated with her medical degree from the Baghdad University Al-Kindy College of Medicine. After relocating to the United States, she completed her residency in internal medicine at the Wayne State University / Detroit Medical Center.
Hospital medicine is a medical specialty that exists in some countries as a branch of internal or family medicine, dealing with the care of acutely ill hospitalized patients. The primary focus is caring for hospitalized patients and co-management with other specialties. Outside of the hospital, Dr. Akrawe is one of six children, and her family is known as the life of the party. She says that they are always the first to get on a dance floor and the last to leave it. Her hobbies include meditation, painting, interior design, and reading on topics such as quantum physics, the subconscious mind, psychology, spirituality, and self-development.
