Growing up in the North Dallas area, Dr. Hrnack has excelled in sports and academics throughout his life.  He competed in gymnastics both for J.J. Pearce High School and at the private club level. After high school, he attended Syracuse University on both athletic and academic scholarships. Throughout his gymnastics career, he won various titles and honors at the high school, college, state, and national levels. Dr. Hrnack was named the 1996 Eastern Coast Athletic Conference rookie of the year. He even earned a spot on the Team 2000 USA National Gymnastics Squad in 1996 when he suffered a serious shoulder injury. While the injury ended his competitive gymnastics career, his surgeon and the excellent care he received also led him to consider a career in medicine. 

Dr. Hrnack took the same discipline and determination that earned him a prestigious athletic career and poured it into pursuing medicine. He returned to Texas to begin his medical training at the University of Texas at Houston. Following graduation from medical school, he began his orthopaedic training at Tulane University in New Orleans. 

Hurricane Katrina temporarily relocated Dr. Hrnack to Vanderbilt in Nashville where he continued to train for 9 months before landing back in Texas to finish his last three years of training at Texas Tech University.

After residency, Dr. Hrnack pursued advanced specialty fellowship training in arthroscopic procedures and sports management in Plano, Texas. At his fellowship and during residency, he published several articles, presented research at several meetings, and co-authored a book chapter. 

Board-certified in orthopaedic surgery and orthopaedic sports medicine, he is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopaedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopaedic surgeons.

From 2010-2014, Dr. Hrnack opened his practice in Decatur, Texas. He briefly moved to Southlake before landing in Grapevine where he joined the medical team at Texas Institute of Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine. 

Now located in Keller with Active Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, Dr. Hrnack is leading a practice dedicated to providing patients with the most personal experience using the latest advancements in orthopaedic technology.

Orthopaedic surgery is the branch of surgery concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system. Orthopaedic surgeons use both surgical and non-surgical means to treat musculoskeletal trauma, spine diseases, sports injuries, degenerative diseases, infections, tumors, and congenital disorders.

Continuing to lead a very active lifestyle, he is married to his wife, Shelbi, who is a certified orthotist and prosthetist. They are residents of Keller.
