An authority in his field, the doctor is board-certified in neurological surgery by the American Board of Neurological Surgery (ABNS). The broad aim of the ABNS is to encourage the study, improve the practice, elevate the standards and advance the science of neurological surgery and thereby serve the cause of public health.

Passionate about teaching, Dr. Hsu serves as an Assistant Professor in the Vivian L. Smith Department of Neurosurgery at McGovern Medical School. He is also a prolific researcher, with a plethora of presentations at national conferences and publications in esteemed journals and textbooks. His recent research endeavors have delved into groundbreaking treatments for recurrent primary CNS lymphoma and recurrent glioblastoma multiforme, as well as innovative intralumbar injections for cancer therapy. His innovative ideas have culminated in multiple patents, both granted and pending.

A true advocate for those facing neurological challenges, his involvement transcends the confines of his medical practice. He has been a charter member of the Brain Tumor Network, a testament to his commitment to collaborative efforts in advancing treatment options for patients. Additionally, his role as the Medical Director of Run for the Rose from 2005 to 2007 showcases his dedication to the well-being of individuals and families affected by cancer.
