Thompson-Handy is an established Registered Nurse who continues to provide exceptional care and support to her patients within VA New Jersey Health Care System, Lyons Campus in Wilmington, Delaware, and is affiliated with VA New Jersey Health Care System. Featuring over 40 years of experience in her field, she has a special expertise in gerontology, long term care, and collecting data.

Delois’ career in nursing began in 1968, when she graduated with her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Winston-Salem State University. An advocate for pursuing further education, she went on to earn her Master of Science Degree in Nursing from University of Delaware School of Nursing .

An former member of the National Gerontological Nursing Association, Delois is committed to keeping current with the newest developments and guidelines in nursing. She has dedicated her life to delivering the highest standard of quality and compassionate care to her patients, and strives to provide the best outcomes possible. With a passion for her work, Delois attributes her success to her instructors, college professors who instilled good values in her and keeping up with literature, and when she is not working she enjoys gardening.
