James’ career in nursing began in 1979 when he graduated with his Nursing Degree from Kent State University. An advocate for pursuing further education, he went on to earn his Master of Science Degree in Nursing from The University of Alabama in Huntsville and Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He also earned a Juris Doctor degree from Birmingham School Of Law.

James is committed to keeping current with the newest developments and guidelines in nursing and is a professional member of the American Nurses Credentialing Center, Fellow of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Fellow of the Infectious Diseases Society of America, and Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing. He has dedicated his life to delivering the highest standard of quality and compassionate care to his patients and strives to provide the best outcomes possible. When he is not working he enjoys the symphony and silver coin collecting.
