Stacey Marshall: A Dedicated Correctional Registered Nurse at Shannon Medical Center
Bridging Compassion and Care in Correctional Nursing
San Angelo, Texas – Stacey Marshall has emerged as a vital member of the nursing community at Shannon Medical Center, where she serves as a Correctional Registered Nurse. With a diverse background and a wealth of experience in various nursing disciplines, Stacey brings a unique perspective and unwavering commitment to providing quality care to her patients.
Stacey’s nursing career commenced in 2010 when she began her journey as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in Long-Term Care (LTC). While pursuing her Associate of Science in Registered Nursing at Howard College, she graduated in 2012 and promptly earned her Registered Nurse license from the Texas Board of Nursing. Her early experiences in the Med/Surg/Orthopedics Unit quickly positioned her as a leader, where she took on the role of night charge nurse. It was during this time that Stacey discovered her passion for surgery and leadership, as well as her love for mentoring new graduates—a role that she finds deeply fulfilling.
After exploring home health nursing, where she particularly enjoyed working with the geriatric population, Stacey returned to Med/Surg. However, the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic led her to seek a new path. In May 2021, she made the significant decision to transition into correctional nursing, a field that allows her to utilize her skills in a unique environment while continuing to make a difference in the lives of her patients.
Stacey attributes her success and resilience to the unwavering support of her family and her determination to succeed, shaped by her background as an immigrant from England. This experience has not only fortified her resilience but also heightened her cultural sensitivity, enabling her to deliver compassionate care to a diverse patient population.
At Shannon Medical Center, Stacey is committed to providing high-quality medical care and support to incarcerated individuals, ensuring that they receive the attention and treatment they need. Her dedication to her patients and her passion for nursing exemplify the core values of Shannon Medical Center: accountability, professionalism, integrity, respect, and compassion.
