Get to know Pulmonologist Dr. Stanley L. Rabinowitz, who serves patients in Mineola, New York.

Dr. Rabinowitz is an experienced pulmonologist who cares for and treats adults with a wide spectrum of chest diseases and breathing disorders, including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, lung cancer, occupational lung disease, pulmonary fibrosis, and sleep disorders.

Graduating with his medical degree from the New York Medical College in 1976, Dr. Rabinowitz went on to further his training. He performed his residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in pulmonary disease at Montefiore Medical Center in 1979 and 1981, respectively. 

Following his training, he attained board certification in internal medicine and pulmonary disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

As a young man, friends and family members often sought Dr. Rabinowitz’s aid for cuts, bruises, and other maladies. They also shared their worries and concerns with him. As he matured, he realized that he had a gift for providing care to those in need. He chose the specialty of pulmonary medicine because it requires the mastery of several sciences: anatomy, physiology, and internal medicine.

In New York, Dr. Rabinowitz is affiliated with NYU Langone Ambulatory Care Bethpage, NYU Winthrop Hospital, Plainview Hospital, St. Joseph Hospital – Bethpage, and St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center.

Holding an academic title, he serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor within the Department of Medicine at NYU Long Island School of Medicine.

On a professional level, Dr. Rabinowitz is a Fellow of the Nassau County Academy of Medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians.

Furthermore, he is a member of the New York Medical Society and the Nassau County Medical Society.
