In practice for over four decades, Dr. Cooper was a respected otolaryngologist serving patients in Delaware. He provided comprehensive medical and surgical care for those with diseases and disorders that involve or affect the ears, nose, throat, and related structures of the head and neck.
From 1985 to his passing in 2020 Dr. Cooper practiced through his private practice ENT and Facial Plastics in Dover, Delaware. Additionally in 2008 he became affiliated with BayHealth Medical Center and saw patients at Bayhealth Hospital, Kent Campus in Dover, Delaware and Bayhealth Hospital, Sussex Campus in Milford, Delaware.
With a broad educational background, Dr. Cooper received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Ursinus College in 1973. He then went on to earn his medical degree from the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University in 1977. Upon graduation, he performed his surgical internship at Bryn Mawr Hospital in 1978, followed by his residency in otolaryngology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in 1982.
That same year, he attained board certification in otolaryngology through the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. The organization serves the public by assuring that diplomates meet the standards of training, knowledge, and professionalism through initial and continuing certification.
Specializing in otolaryngology, Dr. Cooper was a Fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Cooper is survived by his loving wife, Ilene; his three daughters, Nicole, Jennifer, and Michelle; and his three grandchildren, Riley, Bennett, and Ella. Medicine was always his passion, he followed in his fathers footprint, as he inspired him to work in the field.
