A highly experienced gynecologic oncologist, Dr. Salmieri is in practice with Georgia Gynecologic Oncology, operating out of the offices in Cumming and Lawrenceville, Georgia.

He is an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of precancerous conditions and carcinoma of the uterus, ovaries, cervix, vagina, vulva, and other gynecologic diseases which includes: bladder prolapse, severe endometriosis, and fibroids.

Georgia Gynecologic Oncology is an integral part of the Northside Hospital Cancer Institute (NHCI) Gynecologic Cancer Program, which ranks among the top gynecologic cancer programs in the nation. As such, patients benefit from the combined expertise of Georgia’s largest network of cancer specialists and access to groundbreaking clinical trials and the most advanced gynecologic cancer treatments available including chemotherapy and radiation therapy.

Using the da Vinci robotic surgical system, Dr. Salmieri was the first physician in both Gwinnett and Forsyth counties to perform GYN robot-assisted surgery. Due to his expertise in this specialized surgery, he also trains and proctors local physicians and fellowship trainees. He performs surgeries at both Northside Hospital Forsyth and Northside Hospital Gwinnett.

A medical school graduate of Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Salmieri completed a fellowship in advanced pelvic surgery at The Cleveland Clinic. He then went on to complete a fellowship in gynecologic oncology with Southeastern Gynecologic Oncology and Northside Hospital.

Licensed to practice medicine in Georgia, he is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Osteopathic Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (AOBOG). The AOBOG is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (DOs) who specialize in the care of the female reproductive tract and children during the course of pregnancy, childbirth, and the postnatal period (obstetricians) and to qualified DOs who specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the female reproductive tract (gynecologists).

On a professional level, Dr. Salmieri is a proud member of the American Urogynecologic Society, the American Osteopathic Association, and the American Medical Association.

Additionally, he is a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists (GACOOG), a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG), and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS).

Gynecologic oncology is a specialized field of medicine that focuses on cancers of the female reproductive system, including ovarian cancer, uterine cancer, vaginal cancer, cervical cancer, and vulvar cancer.
