Prior to moving with his family to Augusta in 1990, he worked at his private practice in Gainesville, Georgia, which he opened in 1987. In addition, he was a Clinical Instructor for the Emory University Department of Ophthalmology at the Atlanta VA Hospital.
A Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, he is board-certified in ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology, an independent, non-profit organization responsible for certifying ophthalmologists in the United States of America.
Ophthalmology is a branch of medicine and surgery, which deals with the diagnosis and treatment of eye disorders. Ophthalmologists are experts in the diseases, functions, and anatomy of the eye. On a more personal note, he and his wife have two children and now live in Evans, Georgia.
