Dr. Shoengold has been practicing urology since 1981 and is a leading expert in the area of sexual medicine. As the Director of the Center for Female and Male Sexual Medicine in Millburn, New Jersey, he brings technology, procedural know-how, and a wealth of experience to design a restoration program that far exceeds patients’ expectations. The Center provides multimodal therapy for all sexual difficulties.
Dr. Shoengold received his B.A. degree from Rutgers University, where he was named Phi Beta Kappa and Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities. He received his medical degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, where he also completed his residencies in surgery and urology.
Dr. Shoengold is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and Chairman of the Division of Urology at the Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. He is also the Director of Urology Education at the Saint Barnabas Medical Center, a Urology Consultant at the Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation, as well as a member of the Short Hills Surgery Center.
Dr. Shoengold is board-certified in urology by the American Board of Urology (ABU). The mission of the ABU is to act for the benefit of the public by establishing and maintaining standards of certification for urologists, as well as by working with certified urologists to achieve lifelong learning to insure the delivery of high quality, safe and ethical urologic care.
Dr. Shoengold is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). FACS is a post-nominal title used to indicate that the surgeon’s education and training, professional qualifications, surgical competence, and ethical conduct have passed a rigorous evaluation, and have been found to be consistent with the high standards established and demanded by said College.
Dr. Shoengold holds professional memberships with the Sexual Medicine Society of North America, the New Jersey Medical Society, the Essex County Medical Society, the International Society for Sexual Medicine, the Society of Urologic Prosthetic Surgeons, and the American Association of Clinical Urologists. He is also a board member of the International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health (ISSWSH) and one of the 40 MDs in the USA to be elected an ISSWSH fellow (IF).
Dr. Shoengold has published several abstracts and publications. Moreover, he has made numerous media presentations and lectures.
Urology, also known as genitourinary surgery, is the branch of medicine that focuses on surgical and medical diseases of the male and female urinary-tract system and the male reproductive organs.
