A devoted neonatologist, Dr. Saluja serves as Chief of Pediatrics at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle. He also serves patients at Pediatrix Neonatology of Northern Puget Sound.

Back in the early days of his academic career, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Medieval and Renaissance Studies from the University of Michigan, a Master’s degree in Biomedical Informatics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Saluja is board-certified in neonatal-perinatal medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP), having completed his fellowship at the Harvard Program on Newborn Medicine in Boston Massachusetts. He served as an Instructor at Harvard Medical School and fellow in Neonatology at Boston Children’s Hospital, Brigham and Women’s, Beth Israel, and Massachusetts General Hospital.

As a proud member of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and other professional organizations, he actively contributes to the collective knowledge and progress of pediatric care. His vision revolves around creating innovative solutions that enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and overall outcomes within neonatal care.

As the Physician Product Owner of Babysteps Cloud, a web-based patient management system utilized by nearly 300 NICUs across the United States, he plays a crucial role in shaping the landscape of neonatal care. With 25 years of experience in both software development and biomedical informatics, he brings a unique perspective to the intersection of medicine and technology.

In addition to his roles in clinical practice and software development, Dr. Saluja serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Elson Floyd College of Medicine at Washington State University.

Neonatology is a subspecialty of pediatrics focused on the medical care of newborn infants, especially ill or premature newborns. It is a hospital-based specialty and is usually practiced in neonatal intensive care units. Neonatologists generally diagnose and treat newborns with conditions such as breathing disorders, infections, and birth defects, as well as coordinating care and medically managing newborns born prematurely, critically ill, or in need of surgery.

Among his most notable achievements, he has been recognized as a Regional Top Doctor by Castle Connolly in 2014, and  as a 2023 Top Doctor in Seattle Magazine and Seattle Metropolitan Magazine.
