Dr. Madrigrano completed her undergraduate studies at Cornell University and went on to receive her medical degree at the University of Illinois. After participating in a residency at the University of Illinois, Dr. Madrigrano participated in a fellowship with Stanford University. Dr. Madrigrano specializes in surgeries for breast cancer and also holds a teaching position at Rush University in Chicago.
Certified by the American Board of Surgery, Dr. Madrigrano most often performs breast lumpectomies and mastectomies. Since 2007, Dr. Madrigrano has been an active member of the Coleman Foundation Comprehensive Breast Clinic at Rush Hospital. For her expertise in the field, she has earned many awards, including the Gold Humanism award and a fellowship in the American Chemical Society.
Dr. Madrigano has participated in many research opportunities and has published her findings in medical journals, ranging from the Annals of Surgical Medicine to the American Journal of Surgery. General surgeons are trained to operate on the Alimentary Tract (esophagus and related organs), Abdomen and its Contents, Breast, Skin and Soft Tissue, and the Endocrine System. In addition, general surgeons are expected to have knowledge and experience in Surgical Critical Care, Surgical Oncology, and Trauma. Dr. Madrigrano’s specialty in breast surgeries allows her to care for patients with cancer.
