Dr. Kim is a caring pediatric dentist working with patients at her private practice – Evergreen Pediatric Dentistry – in Kirkland, Washington. For her, it is rewarding and humbling to make a direct positive impact on children’s oral health clinically, medically, and emotionally. She loves seeing the smiles of patients and parents at the end of their visits. Children love that she is patient, kind, and gentle.
Growing up in Long Island, New York, she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Education at Wellesley College in Massachusetts in 1995. Following graduation she spent one year teaching English in a girls high school in Seoul, Korea. She returned to New York to attend Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, receiving her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2000.
Combining her two passions, children and dentistry, Dr. Kim continued her training in a pediatric dentistry postdoctoral program at Columbia, completing it in 2002. She gained valuable experience by treating children with medical challenges, assisting dental students with clinical instruction, and conducting research on digital radiography advancements. Dr. Kim is certified to use HealthyStart which addresses sleep disordered breathing early on and she is certified in laser procedures such as lip and tongue tie releases.
Upon receiving her certificate, she focused on providing dental care to children in New York and New Jersey until she moved to the breathtaking Pacific Northwest. Her first opportunity in the Northwest allowed her to provide comprehensive dental services to local Native American children, which she found very rewarding and insightful.
Recognized as a Top Pediatric Dentist in Seattle Met Magazine (2012-2021), Dr. Kim is the Past President of the Korean American Health Professions Association (KAHPA). She enjoys donating to local charities and organizations such as the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.
Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimens. They clean teeth, correct bite issues, perform surgeries and extractions, and perform other duties to ensure that the teeth and mouth are healthy.
Dr. Kim is busy with four boys at home but she loves to cook for them and spend time with them. Some of her interests are golf, travel, cooking, and fitness.
