Academically, she graduated from Hope College and received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Michigan. Following dental school, she pursued further education in pediatric dentistry at the University of Tennessee, where she completed a Master’s degree.

She is a board-certified pediatric dentist and an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), the American Dental Association (ADA), and the Michigan Dental Association (MDA). In fact, she currently serves as the President of the Michigan Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (MAPD).
