She then went on to complete her residency in internal medicine at Fairview Hospital, followed by her fellowship in experimental therapeutic / hematology & oncology at Cleveland Clinic’s Taussig Cancer Institute.
Following her education, the doctor became board-certified in internal medicine, hematology, and medical oncology by the American Board of Internal Medicine, which is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
“In terms of my research, as a clinical investigator trained with a specific focus in hematologic malignancies, I am interested in novel drug development to improve outcomes in patients with blood cancers. Specifically, I investigate biomarker-driven or modern targeted therapies for treating hematologic malignancies. I hope to translate novel findings from the lab to the patients by conducting early phase clinical trials.” as stated by Dr. Thota.
