Dr. Dahhan is a board-certified pulmonologist and critical care physician who is affiliated with Duke University Health System in Durham, North Carolina. Dr. Dahhan is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians. He is also a member of the American College of Critical Care Medicine and the American Thoracic Society.

Dr. Dahhan earned his medical degree from the College of Medicine at King Saud University in Saudi Arabia in 2003. Upon relocating to the United States, he completed his residency in internal medicine at Duke University Hospital in 2012, followed by his fellowship in pulmonary diseases and critical care medicine at the same hospital in 2015. 

Pulmonology is a medical specialty that deals with diseases involving the respiratory tract. A pulmonologist is an internal medicine physician who specializes in preventing, diagnosing, and treating conditions and diseases that affect the lungs, bronchial tubes, and the respiratory system (including the nose, pharynx and throat).

Intensive care medicine, or critical care medicine, is a branch of medicine concerned with the diagnosis and management of life-threatening conditions that may require sophisticated life support and intensive monitoring. A critical care physician treats patients who have any medical or surgical illness or operation that requires critical care support – generally life-threatening major illnesses or operations where high level life support is required.
