Lee Moffitt Cancer Center.

Excelling in brain health, the doctor is board-certified through the American Board of Neurological Surgery, whose mission is to encourage the study, improve the practice, elevate the standards, and advance the science of neurological surgery and thereby serve the cause of public health. 

With an extensive background in academics, Dr. Julien has held a number of professorships in neurosurgery at the West Virginia University School of Medicine in Morgantown; Marshal University in Huntington, West Virginia; and at Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. 

Crediting his success to always being curious about the brain and how to help people, he holds membership status with numerous professional organizations. These include: the American Medical Association, the National Medical Association, the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (Fellow), the American College of Surgeons (Fellow), the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, the Society for Neuro-Oncology, the North American Spine Society, and the Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery.

Neurosurgery is the medical specialty concerned with the prevention, diagnosis, surgical treatment, and rehabilitation of disorders which affect any portion of the nervous system including the brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves, and extra-cranial cerebrovascular system. Neurosurgeons are doctors who diagnose and treat problems with the nervous system, often by performing surgery on the brain or spine. They treat strokes, tumors, certain types of birth defects, infections, and head or spinal cord injuries.
