Dr. Theresa Rose Bajt is a psychologist who practices in St. Louis, Missouri. She has over 25 years of working with adult disorders that include anxiety, obsessive-compulsive, manic depressive, grief, ADHD/ADD and divorce or separation. When in session with her patients, her focus is always on quality and compassion. She believes her diverse background, in-depth education, and professional and personal experiences give her the ability to instill hope and provide practical solutions and navigational life skills to those who seek her services.
Dr. Bajt received her first Master’s Degree from Montana State University, then went on to earn her M.Ed. from Harvard University, and her Ph.D. from the University of Maryland, College Park. Over the course of her career, she has received several awards, including the one she is most proud of, the Impact Award. This is granted to one woman each year who makes a significant artistic or scientific contribution that changes the lives of or improves the psychological welfare of children. She has co-authored and published several articles in the Journal of the American Psychologist, as well as a New York Times article, “When Laws and Values Conflict: A Dilemma for the Psychologist.” Her work has also been requested internationally.
Dr. Bajt credits her diverse work and personal history prior to her educational career for much of her success with her patients and her perseverance to always set an example. She was Miss Montana USA (1977), appeared in a Dick Clark made-for-television movie, and wrote “Best Intentions,” a movie script that was considered by one of Hollywood’s top agents. Her husband of thirty years, who passed away from cancer in 2015, and her sons, played an important role in helping her understand life’s complexities. From a young age, her parents and immigrant grandparents were her inspiration to never give up and always reach higher. Above all, Dr. Bajt’s dedication to the field of psychology makes her a worthy, sixth time Top Doctor Award winner.
