Dr. Peterson earned his medical degree from the University of Minnesota. He then completed his general surgery residency at both the Sioux Falls Family Medicine Program and the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics Program. Additionally, Dr. Peterson is board-certified by the American Board of Family Practice and the American Board of General Surgery.
In addition to numerous awards and accolades, Dr. Peterson was part of a team of medical experts that traveled to the community of Limbe, Haiti to a medical compound that serves 30,000 or more people that depend on one medical staff person and traveling surgical teams to help people in need of care.
