Tina is a registered nurse who has been in practice for over 25 years. She currently serves as a nurse supervisor at BioScrip, Inc. in Virginia. BioScrip, Inc. is the largest independent national provider of infusion and home care management solutions, with approximately 2,100 teammates and nearly 70 service locations across the United States. BioScrip partners with physicians, hospital systems, payors, pharmaceutical manufacturers, and skilled nursing facilities to provide patients access to post-acute care services.
Tina’s job responsibilities include providing leadership within a multidisciplinary team of nurses, pharmacists, and pharmacy technicians; providing evidence-based infusion nursing care to patients in the home and ambulatory infusion center; and supervising branch intake personnel to assure care coordination between Bioscrip, referral partners, and home health agencies.
Tina is a Certified Registered Nurse Infusion (CRNI®). A CRNI® is an exceptional nurse determined to push him- or herself to be ahead of the curve and on top of the newest developments in the infusion nursing field in order to ensure the best possible patient care. A CRNI® is part of a global community of elite nurses from across multiple disciplines who have demonstrated through certification that they are the most informed and the most highly qualified infusion nursing specialists. Tina specializes in home infusion therapy. Infusion therapy is when medication is delivered through a needle or catheter into a vein. Home infusion therapy is when a patient receives this therapy outside the hospital or clinical setting.
Tina chose a career in nursing because she had always wanted to help people. In fact, she wanted to become a nurse, but lacked the support to pursue it. After trying out other things, she decided that she would go back to what she had always wanted to pursue. She dreamed of empowering, educating, and helping others and she knew that nursing was what she was meant to do.
Tina attributes her success to the caretaker role in all areas of her life. Lending a helping hand and being there for others comes easy to her and it is something that she is passionate about. Tina also loves educating patients and getting to work one on one with them.
Tina makes a difference in the lives of her patients by providing those who require infusion therapy to treat both acute and chronic illnesses with the proper education and support. She promotes patient independence and quality of life by providing care to patients in their homes.
Tina earned her Associate in Applied Science degree from Corning Community College in 1994. She then went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Phoenix in 2015. She also earned her Master of Science in Nursing degree specializing in nursing education from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in 2019. Tina is a member of the Infusion Nurses Society and the Meraki Nursing Honor Society.
A registered nurse (RN) is a nurse who has graduated from a nursing program and met the requirements outlined by a country, state, province or similar licensing body to obtain a nursing license. RNs fulfill a variety of job duties.
