Dr. Goodlow is an advanced practice registered nurse & a board-certified adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner who works at HeartPlace South Arlington in Texas. After working for several years as a telemetry nurse, charge nurse, and preceptor to new graduate nurses, she enrolled in the University of Arizona’s Doctor of Nursing Practice program, with a concentration as an adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner.
Her doctoral dissertation was conducted in cardiology and entitled “Provider Adherence to JNC 8 Pharmacological Guideline Recommendations in African American Adults Diagnosed with Hypertension”. Her research won the Outstanding Dissertation Award for Excellence in Nursing with Vulnerable Populations by the University of Arizona and she subsequently graduated in 2017.
With her favorite aspect of nursing being teaching, Dr. Goodlow prides herself in providing explanations to patients regarding their cardiovascular health, including preventative care and patient advocacy. Alongside her clinical role at HeartPlace South Arlington, she remains affiliated with Medical City Arlington.
To advance her professional efforts, she remains a member of Texas Nurses Association, Texas Nurse Practitioners, and American Nurses Association.
An Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) is a nurse who has obtained at least a master’s degree in nursing. Zuber Scholarship, University of Arizona (2014-2015); Southern University and Agricultural and Mechanical College Honors Graduate Inductee (2010); Saint Charles Parish Women’s Club Scholarship (2005-2009); and Entergy Power Scholarship (2005).
In her spare time, Dr. Goodlow and her husband enjoy spending time with their three boys, as well as playing basketball, exercising, listening to music, traveling, and eating at different restaurants. They reside in Irving, Texas.
