A specialist in the field of sports medicine, Dr. Beatty is the Co-Founder of Beatty Harris Sports Medicine. She sees patients at the offices in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania & Cherry Hill, New Jersey.
Beatty Harris Sports Medicine was founded out of a desire to provide high quality, comprehensive, patient-focused care for active individuals of all ages and abilities. As former athletes themselves, Drs. Beatty and Harris know how disruptive acute and chronic injuries can be, as well as the activity limitations that nagging aches and pains can cause. They know how important it is to feel better quickly and return to a desired level of activity. As board-certified sports medicine physicians, they have the specialized training and experience required to deliver the exceptional care that patients need.
Making the most of her clinical expertise, Dr. Beatty is experienced in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries and conditions unique to females; in the use of musculoskeletal ultrasound for guided joint injections and tendon procedures; and in the nonsurgical management of acute and chronic injuries plaguing athletes of all ages and abilities.
She has been the team physician for the Philadelphia Union, the University of Delaware, Saint Joseph’s University, The Agnes Irwin School, Radnor High School and Ridley High School. She has also practiced as a US Naval Flight Surgeon, with the VT-28 Rangers, Training Air Wing Four in Corpus Christi, Texas.
A native of Broomall, Pennsylvania, Dr. Beatty graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree from Ursinus College. She then went on to earn her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2003. Furthering her training, she completed her internship at Naval Medical Center in 2004, her residency in family medicine at Bryn Mawr Hospital in 2009, and her fellowship in primary care sports medicine with Crozer-Keystone Health System in 2010.
With over 10 years of experience in her field, she is board-certified in family medicine and sports medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). The ABFM is a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice in family medicine and its sub-specialties.
Among her accolades, Dr. Beatty holds certifications in Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Basic Life Support, and Advanced Trauma Life Support. She is the recipient of Patients’ Choice Award (2017, 2018, 2020), On-Time Doctor Award (2017, 2018, 2020), and Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2017, 2018, 2020).
Sports medicine is a branch of medicine that deals with physical fitness and the treatment and prevention of injuries related to sports and exercise. A sports medicine specialist is a physician with significant specialized training in both the treatment and prevention of illness and injury.
On a more personal note, Dr. Beatty is a former competitive Gymnast and Division 1 NCAA Diver. She currently enjoys long distance running, high intensity interval training, and yoga.
Happily married, she lives in Narberth with her husband and 5 children and their German Shepherd, Lucy.
