In practice since 1993, Dr. Espinola sees both pediatric and adult patients, utilizing the latest treatments and technology, and whenever appropriate, minimally invasive treatment options. “My parents laid a firm foundation for my career in medicine. I chose Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery as a career because of my passion for the intricate and delicate anatomy of the head and neck. Aided by her expertise, Dr. Espinola has spent her career promoting good health and quality care by serving numerous committee appointments both locally and at the state level. She served four years on the Florida Board of Medicine and four years as Chief of Staff at Bayfront Hospital. She has also participated with missionary work both locally and abroad, helping less fortunate children with cleft and cranial deformities.
To date, she holds privileges at the following facilities: Bayfront Ambulatory Surgical Center, Bayfront Health-St. Petersburg, Johns Hopkins-All Children’s Hospital, Palms of Pasadena Hospital, and St. Anthony’s Hospital-Baycare.
Back in 1987, Dr. Espinola earned her medical degree from the Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana. She completed her surgical internship at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, her surgical residency within the Department of Surgery at Tulane University, and her residency in otolaryngology within the Department of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at Tulane University.
For the purpose of advancing her professional efforts, she remains a member of the following organizations: the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery, the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the Florida Medical Association, and the Pinellas County Medical Association. In addition, she has various academic affiliations and is involved in the education and training of medical students and residents.
A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, she is board-certified in otolaryngology by the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, which serves the public by ensuring that diplomates meet the standards of training, knowledge, and professionalism through initial and continuing certification.
