Dr. DiStefano’s acclaimed career in medicine began after graduating with his Medical Degree from the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center.
Dr. DiStefano is a highly trained and qualified physician with an extensive expertise in all facets of his work. Following the completion of medical school, he completed a residency at the State University of New York at Buffalo. He then served his fellowship in Hematology at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Buffalo, before undertaking an additional fellowship in Medical Oncology at MD Anderson Hospital and Tumor Institute in Houston. Dr. DiStefano is board certified in Hematology and Medical Oncology by the American Board of Internal Medicine, and is a professional member of numerous societies and organizations. He co-founded the Cancer Research Foundation of North Texas, a non-profit organization dedicated to medical research and education for cancer related diseases.
Featuring over three decades of experience in his field, he continues to provide exceptional care to his patients as the founder of the Arlington Cancer Center in Arlington, Texas.
A hematologist-oncologist who is a physician who specializes in the diagnosis, treatment and/or prevention of blood diseases and cancers such as iron-deficiency anemia, hemophilia, sickle-cell disease, leukemia and lymphoma. They will be trained in hematology, the study of blood and oncology, the study of cancer, but will specialize in treating blood cancers, such as Hodgkins and non-Hodgkins lymphomas, leukemias and multiple myelomas. A hematologist-oncologist may also specialize in the management of solid tumors.
