Following his training, the doctor attained board certification in anesthesiology through the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA). As the certifying body for anesthesiologists since 1938, the ABA is committed to partnering with physicians to advance lifelong learning and exceptional patient care. Its mission is to advance the highest standards of the practice of anesthesiology.
In order to stay up to date in his field, Dr. Hassanein remains an active member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the American Medical Association, the American Society of Regional Anesthesia, and the Pennsylvania Medical Society.
Anesthesiology is the medical specialty concerned with the total perioperative care of patients before, during, and after surgery. It encompasses anesthesia, intensive care medicine, critical emergency medicine, and pain medicine. Anesthesiologists have the primary responsibility of monitoring the patient’s vital signs during surgery. In addition to basic measurements such as pulse, blood pressure, and temperature, they measure the patient’s respiration.
During the Covid pandemic, Dr. Hassanein volunteered his time with local high schools and middle schools, administering vaccines to the students.
When he is not working, he enjoys traveling with his family. His favorite vacation destination is Maui, where he enjoys soaking up the sun and spending time with his loved ones. He also has a number of hobbies and interests, including cooking, gardening, swimming, spinning, and playing tennis.
A devoted father, Dr. Hassanein loves spending time with his two boys and engaging in various activities with them.
