Finally, he completed his Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.

Passionate about his profession, the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Achieving fellowship status, he is a Fellow of both the American College of Physicians (FACP), and the Society of Hospital Medicine (SFHM).

Continuously advancing his efforts, Dr. Novey is an active member of the American Medical Association, the Chicago Medical Society, the American Association of Physician Leadership, the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians, the American College of Physician Advisors, and the Association of Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialists.

Hospital medicine is a medical specialty that exists in some countries as a branch of internal or family medicine, dealing with the care of acutely ill hospitalized patients. The primary focus is caring for hospitalized patients and co-management with other specialties. Hospitalists take an active part in medical care and ensure a safe discharge for the patients they take care of. They are being increasingly involved in administrative roles, given their expertise and collaboration with various teams in the hospital.
