He then returned to the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, where he completed his fellowship in pathology.
Subsequent to his training, the doctor attained board certification in general surgery through the American Board of Surgery (ABS). The ABS is an independent, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge.
In addition to being an Associate Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Marquart is a member of the Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract, the Texas Medical Association, the Tarrant County Medical Society, and the American Medical Association.
General surgery is a surgical specialty that focuses on abdominal contents including the esophagus, stomach, small bowel, colon, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, appendix, and often the thyroid gland.
