A board-certified and fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Costigan is a Director of Congress Orthopedic Associates, alongside Dr. Roy Ashford. He emphasizes the non-operative management of many spinal conditions, prior to taking a surgical approach.

Following the completion of his orthopedic training, he completed a year-long fellowship in spinal surgery at the University of Southern California’s Center for Orthopedic Spinal Surgery.
With an unwavering commitment to his specialty, the doctor is board-certified in orthopedic surgery and spine surgery by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons.
Continuously advancing his efforts, he is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, and the North American Spine Society.
With a passion for teaching, Dr. Costigan serves as an Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the USC School of Medicine and also travels internationally on humanitarian medical missions to India, Africa, and Peru performing spinal surgery on the less-privileged around the world.
