With an extensive background and a multi-modality approach to treatment, Ms. Francis is dedicated to improving the quality of life for cancer patients through innovative and compassionate care.
With impressive qualifications, Ms. Francis is a certified upper and lower extremity lymphedema specialist, certified cancer exercise specialist, certified survivorship training and rehabilitation for oncology, certified functional movement techniques, and serves as a clinical specialist for the cancer rehabilitation program. Her expertise encompasses a wide range of conditions, including Bell’s palsy, facial weakness, head and neck lymphedema, headaches, migraines, TMJ dysfunction, and liver transplant, alongside her specialized knowledge in cancer rehabilitation, lymphedema, cranio sacral therapy, and visceral manipulation. This diverse skill set allows her to offer comprehensive treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of each patient.
A graduate of Howard University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Maryland University College. Ms. Francis combines clinical expertise with strategic insight. Her commitment to ongoing education is evident through her active participation in professional organizations such as the American Physical Therapy Association (Oncology and Leadership Sections), the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the National Lymphedema Network, and the National Comprehensive Cancer Network.
In addition to her clinical work, Ms. Francis is an adjunct faculty member at Howard University Physical Therapy School and the Radiation Therapy Dept, where she shares her knowledge on lymphatics anatomy and breast cancer-related lymphedema with future therapists and is a Clinical Instructor. She plays a pivotal role in mentoring fellow professionals in oncology rehabilitation and lymphedema, contributing to the development of the field.
Recognized for her leadership, Ms. Francis serves on the CARF Cancer Rehabilitation leadership team and is a board member of the American Physical Therapy Association DC Chapters, where she co-chairs the Health Systems Council and Community Engagement Activities and serves as a mentor for the American Physical Therapy Association Oncology Mentorship Program.
Ms. Francis’s passion extends beyond her practice; she actively engages with breast cancer support groups, speaker (Oncology) Physical Therapy Exposure Program for High School students, volunteers Medical Missionaries Pro Bono Physical Therapy/Medical Clinic. and has contributed to the book “A Guide to Living Well: Managing Breast Cancer with Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.” Her dedication to patient education and empowerment is a testament to her holistic approach to care.
