Get to know Acupuncturist Dr. Alan M. Genitempo, who serves patients in northern New Jersey.
Dr. Genitempo, a licensed acupuncturist, is the Founder of RECOVR Acupuncture and Sports Rehab. It is North Jersey’s premier acupuncture and sports rehab facility, helping people of all ages and athletic backgrounds get back to living a pain free life.
Founded in 2019, RECOVR Acupuncture and Sports Rehab specializes in acupuncture for the treatment of musculoskeletal pain as well as other generalized health conditions. Services include acupuncture, cupping therapy, herbal medicine, electric-stimulation acupuncture, dietary therapy, and infrared therapy.
With a broad educational background, Dr. Genitempo graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from The College of New Jersey in 2013. He then went on to obtain his Master of Science degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine and his Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. He played baseball at both the Division I and III levels and has since been an instructor to young baseball players in North Jersey.
Holding certifications in kinesiology taping (level 1) and Electro-Acupuncture Medicine (Master), he is certified through the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, which is a non-profit organization in the United States. It aims to “establish, assess, and promote recognized standards of competence and safety in acupuncture and Oriental medicine for the protection and benefit of the public.”
Born and raised in Nutley, Dr. Genitempo has participated in many of the programs and organizations the town has to offer. He looks forward to serving the community that he grew up in for many years to come.
