The priority population of those eligible for services include individuals who may have a severe and persistent mental illness, children with a severe emotional disturbance, individuals who may have an intellectual/developmental disability, and individuals who may have a substance use disorder that is co-occurring with a mental illness.

Upon graduating with her high school diploma from Alpena High School in 2016, Amanda went on to earn her nursing degree from Alpena Community College in 2019.

From 2012 up to the summer of 2019, she volunteered at various nursing homes in her area. She enjoyed visiting the residents and bringing joy to their day.

A Registered Nurse (RN) is a nurse who has graduated from a nursing program and met the requirements outlined by a country, state, province or similar licensing body to obtain a nursing license. RNs fulfill a variety of job duties. In addition to their primary role in treating and caring for patients, their responsibilities also include educating patients and the public about a variety of medical conditions, as well as providing emotional support and advice to the families of their patients. Other RN job functions include leadership, research, performing diagnostic tests and analyzing results, operating medical equipment, administering medications, recording patients’ symptoms and medical histories, and assisting with patient rehabilitation and follow-up.

RN Case Managers are registered nurses tasked with the evaluation and implementation of health care plans for individual patients. They are concerned with providing effective and efficient medical care while managing the costs of treatment. An RN Case Manager also acts as a liaison between patients, their families, doctors, and health care providers.
