Dr. Winkelmann’s career in Pediatrics began in 1998 when she obtained her Medical Degree with honors from the University of Illinois-Chicago College of Medicine. Thereafter, she completed her residency at Hope Children’s Hospital/Christ Hospital Medical Center. She is determined to enhance her patients’ quality of life, providing high caliber, individualized care in order to ensure the most optimal results.
To keep current with the new developments and technology in her field, Dr. Winkelmann remains a distinguished member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, including the Council on Sports and Fitness. She is also a member of the American Medical Writers Association and the Orange County Medical Association. Among her many achievements, she is the recipient of the OCMA Physician of Excellence award from 2012-2015, the AMA Award for Overall Excellence of Research, and the Roche Laboratories’ First Award in Clinical Services. She has dedicated her life to delivering quality and compassionate care to every patient and family she serves.
In 2014, she founded Doctor Jacq: Nutrition Coach for Young Athletes. She speaks to sports teams all over the country and offers private consults for young athletes at any level of play. She writes a blog on her website, www.doctorjacq.com, on sports nutrition, sports medicine, teen issues and general pediatrics, and she is in the process of writing her first book on the subject.
