He then went on to earn his Master of Science degree in molecular biology from Howard University. Upon completing both internship and residency in internal medicine at Franklin Square Hospital, Dr. Zemichael completed an additional residency in psychiatry at East Tennessee State University – Quillen College of Medicine.
Dr. Zemichael was voted among America’s Top Psychiatrists in 2008. He has also received several other awards throughout his line of work, including Best Resident Teacher of the Year Award and Chief of Staff Award of Excellence and Exemplary Work in Geriatric Psychiatry.
Dr. Zemichael is active in volunteer work with medical and humanitarian missions to Eritrea. He also volunteers with the Oversight-Medication Program in St. Mary’s Neuropsychiatric Hospital. Furthermore, he provides consultation and public speech presentations through pharmaceutical companies.
To further enhance his professional development, Dr. Zemichael is an esteemed member of several organizations, including the Tennessee Psychiatric Association and the Southern Medical Association.

In his spare time, he enjoys writing, teaching, public speaking, traveling the world, and playing racquetball.
