Pennsylvania  – Dr. Grace J. Wang a dual board-certified vascular surgeon, is making significant strides in the field of vascular surgery at Penn Medicine. With her extensive expertise in carotid endarterectomy and carotid stenting, endovascular and open interventions for limb salvage, as well as endovascular and surgical repair of thoracic, thoracoabdominal and abdominal aortic aneurysms, Dr. Wang is committed to improving patient outcomes and advancing surgical techniques in vascular care.  

As the Vascular Director at the Penn Aorta Center and Clinical Director of the Vascular Laboratory at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Wang plays a pivotal role in the management and treatment of complex vascular conditions. In addition to her leadership at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, she serves as a Professor of Surgery in the Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine. Her multifaceted role also includes participation in the Penn Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy Program and the Penn Wound Care Program, where she collaborates with a dedicated team to enhance patient care.  

After graduating with her Doctor of Medicine Degree from NYU Grossman School of Medicine in 2000, Dr. Wang completed her general surgical training at Massachusetts General Hospital, a prestigious affiliate of Harvard Medical School. Following her training, she pursued a specialized vascular and endovascular fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where she has since made significant contributions as a faculty member.  

Dr. Wang’s commitment to research in vascular surgery is underscored by her Master of Science Degree in Clinical Epidemiology through the Center for Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the University of Pennsylvania. Her research focuses on utilizing large-scale databases to explore practice trends, outcomes predictors, and disparities in care access among different demographics. Her focused interest in thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) has led to numerous publications, including three book chapters and 18 peer-reviewed manuscripts, solidifying her reputation as a leader in the field.  

Dr. Wang is not only a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery but also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Her membership in various esteemed organizations, including the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography, the Association of Academic Surgery, the Association of Women Surgeons, the Delaware Valley Vascular Society, the Eastern Vascular Society, the Massachusetts General Hospital Surgical Society, the Mid-Atlantic Vascular Study Group, the Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery, the Society for Vascular Surgery, the Society for Vascular Ultrasound, the Vascular and Endovascular Surgery Society, and Vascular Quality Initiative, reflects her dedication to advancing the field of vascular surgery and her commitment to promoting excellence in patient care.
