Suzanne Hall, MD, a Shoulder Specialist with Appalachian Shoulder Specialists

Get to know Shoulder Specialist Dr. Suzanne Hall, who serves patients in Hendersonville, North Carolina.

Dr. Hall is a fellowship-trained shoulder specialist working with patients at her private practice – Appalachian Shoulder Specialists – in Hendersonville, North Carolina. She offers many types of expert treatment of shoulder problems, including non operative techniques, arthroscopic procedures, rotator cuff repairs, instability repairs for recurrent dislocations, shoulder replacement, reverse shoulder replacement, and complex fractures of the shoulder, humerus, and elbow.

Her extra expertise creates a very different experience for those in need of shoulder care. She really listens to her patients and invites family or friends to come as an extra pair of eyes and ears. Her exam is thorough and her diagnoses are clearly explained. Whenever possible, nonoperative treatment is tried first. When surgery is needed, gentle techniques are used to minimize pain, speed healing, and maximize results. After surgery, patients are instructed in home exercises which can usually be done without physical therapy.

Obtaining her undergraduate degrees at Boston University and Northeastern University, Dr. Hall started her career in medicine by graduating with her medical degree from the University of Massachusetts Medical School. She then went on to complete her internship at Mount Sinai Hospital, and her residency in orthopedic surgery at the Bronx Lebanon Hospital. Finally, she completed her fellowship in shoulder surgery at the Hospital for Joint Diseases Orthopedic Institute.

In 1999, she came to North Carolina and taught orthopedic residents from Duke University at the Asheville VA for 6 years, before founding her private practice in Hendersonville in 2005.

Active in the community, Dr. Hall serves as a Speaker at the North Carolina Orthopedic Nurses State meeting; Community Educator on shoulder health, rotator cuff tears, shoulder arthritis & other shoulder related topics at the Pardee Education Center; and has participated in the education of physical therapy and nursing staff at numerous rehab centers in Hendersonville and the surrounding counties. She has also had multiple appearances on the medical education segment on WHKP Radio.

Orthopedic surgery is the branch of surgery concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system. Orthopedic surgeons use both surgical and non-surgical means to treat musculoskeletal trauma, spine diseases, sports injuries, degenerative diseases, infections, tumors, and congenital disorders.

An authority in her field, Dr. Hall has been the recipient of the Patients’ Choice Award (2018, 2017, 2015, 2014, 2013), Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2018, 2017, 2015, 2014, 2013), and On-Time Doctor Award (2018, 2017, 2015, 2014).
