Dr. Achinger was elected as Managing Partner of Watson Clinic LLP in Lakeland, Florida on March 2, 2018. A board-certified nephrologist who has served the healthcare needs of Watson Clinic LLC patients since 2009, he oversees the management and execution of business strategy, helps to devise and implement initiatives that ensure exceptional patient care, and serves as a public spokesman to promote the Clinic’s vision and values.

Bringing to the position a strong interest in scholarship, he has published 22 peer-reviewed articles, including two letters to the editor in the prestigious New England Journal of Medicine. He currently serves on the editorial board of Frontiers in Medicine, and is an invited lecturer on topics related to kidney disease.
With a broad educational background, Dr. Achinger graduated with his medical degree from the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine in 2000. He then went on to perform his internship, residency in internal medicine, and fellowship in nephrology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
Continuing to provide exceptional nephrology care, he is board-certified in both internal medicine and nephrology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
In addition to being a Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology (FASN), Dr. Achinger is a member of the Florida Medical Association and the Polk County Medical Association.
