Get to know Ophthalmologist Dr. Ore-Ofeoluwatomi Adesina, who serves the Oklahoma City area at his private practice and at the Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center.

Dr. Adesina recieved his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in Oklahoma City. He then completed a residency at the Dean McGee Eye Institute, University of Oklahoma; a fellowship in neuro-ophthalmology at the Moran Eye Center, University of Utah; and a preceptorship in oculoplastics and orbital surgery at the Moran Eye Center. Board-certified in ophthalmology, Dr. Adesina’s clinical interests include neuro-ophthalmology, general ophthalmology and oculoplastics, with a focus on diseases affecting the optic nerves and orbit.

Currently, Dr. Adesina serves as a clinical assistant professor of ophthalmology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) Medical School. He has been in practice at the Robert Cizik Eye Clinic at UTHealth since 2013. As a specialist in the evaluation and treatment of patients with vision problems related to the nervous system, Dr. Adesina works in collaboration with neuroradiologists, neurosurgeons, neurologists and ear-nose-throat specialists to provide the best care to patients with neuro-ophthalmic diseases.

Dr. Adesina often sees patients with problems that have not been solved elsewhere. He performs optic nerve sheath fenestrations for vision loss related to papilledema. Additionally, Dr. Adesina specializes in surgery of the orbit and eyelids, as well as adult strabismus surgery. Throughout his career, he has earned many awards and accolades, including the Dean McGee Award in Ophthalmology.
