A prominent family physician, Dr. Casablanca plays a vital role in delivering exceptional healthcare to the East Hampton community. In his role at Middlesex Health, he provides comprehensive primary care to adult patients while also mentoring the next generation of family medicine practitioners. His dedication to education is evident in his position as a professor at multiple medical schools in Connecticut and as a faculty physician for the Middlesex Health Family Medicine Residency Program, where he has been an integral part of the faculty since October 2016.
Board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, he completed his residency at the Hunterdon Medical Center Family Practice Residency Program and earned his medical degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. His clinical interests include the management of asthma, diabetes, and hypertension, as well as a strong focus on wellness and school medicine.
As a dedicated leader in the medical community, Dr. Casablanca holds numerous leadership positions, including serving as a Delegate to the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) Congress and chairing the AAFP Commission on Federal and State Policy. His commitment to education is evident as he serves as a professor at multiple medical schools in Connecticut and as a faculty physician for the Middlesex Health Family Medicine Residency Program.
Beyond his clinical responsibilities, he is actively involved in his community, serving as a Medical Advisor for the Ansonia and Shelton School Districts and frequently attending school sports events. He believes in the importance of Family Medicine within the healthcare system, stating, “For me, it’s the respect afforded to Family Medicine as a specialty within the organization. Residents participate in the leadership of the hospital, and their opinion counts when major decisions are considered.”
On a more personal level, Dr. Casablanca enjoys spending time with his family. He is married with four children and shares a passion for sports, particularly following the Yankees, Giants, and NJ Devils. He also cherishes moments spent on the golf course, traveling to the New Jersey and Delaware beaches, and recently took up cycling as a new hobby. An avid musician, he enjoys singing and playing the piano, alongside indulging in reading and crossword puzzles.
